Steve is a Project Architect at MAROTTA/MAIN Architects, bringing over 38 years of experience overseeing the design, development, and construction of multi-family residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects throughout the Central Pennsylvania region.
As a project leader, Steve excels at recognizing and leveraging the strengths of his team, ensuring that projects not only meet but exceed the client’s vision, while balancing the standards of design and functionality. He has a particular passion for historic preservation and adaptive reuse, having overseen numerous award-winning preservation projects. His expertise encompasses all phases of a project, including full services for the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentive application process.
Steve has a long-standing commitment to community volunteerism and civic engagement. A former board member of the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County and past Chair of the City of Lancaster Historic Architectural Review Board, Steve currently serves on the City of Lancaster Historical Commission and the Building Code Board of Appeals. He has also served on several grant review committees for Historic Preservation Grants at the state and local levels.
A strong advocate for green and sustainable design, Steve is a former Passive House Designer (CPHD), accredited by the Passive House Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and holds national architectural accreditation from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
