MAROTTA/MAIN Architects transformed a Cape Cod style home into a fresh, contemporary dwelling that celebrates a riverside setting. Modern roof lines reach toward the backyard's dramatic view of the Conestoga River. The home opens up to landscape with glazing on the rear facade, which draws attention to the scenery outside. The deck and screened porch extend living spaces outdoors. On the second level, large skylights provide treetop views and fill bedrooms with natural light.
The project included adding a library and screen porch and renovating all interior spaces. In the master suite, improvements feature a fireplace, steam shower, and jetted tub. Exterior improvements included new windows and doors, siding, deck, and adjusted roof pitch.
