process

WE STRIVE TO MAKE THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROCESS MEANINGFUL FOR OUR CLIENTS AS WELL AS OURSELVES. THE DESIGN PROCESS IS A SHARED EXPERIENCE.

Whether designing a school, a dentist office, or a residence, MAROTTA/MAIN Architects wants their clients to value the possibility of architectural theory in the buildings they will use every day. Our clients are empowered with the knowledge of how design can address their practical, economic, political, environmental, and aesthetic concerns. Rather than processing a project with a zealous design stance that marks the style of the firm, the studio works to understand the particular needs and concerns of each client. Through careful listening and analysis, we develop a specific design process based on these needs.

During the design process, MAROTTA/MAIN Architects assembles a specific team of engineers and contractors who can best realize the project. Throughout the construction phase, we diligently ensure the client’s initial needs are maintained so that the architectural process translates into a building that they enjoy inhabiting everyday.

Thus, the unique character of the buildings we design doesn't mark our firm’s particular “style,” “look,” or agenda, but rather the design process they share with each of their clients. The result of this process is good design.

It was a breath of fresh air to actually have input into projects and see our concerns put into reality. For that, I thank you all.

From the prebid stage throughout the construction stage, the M/M team is receptive, understanding, responsive, and seems to treat the contractor as a valued team member with the ultimate end goal of a successful project for everyone involved, which is very rare these days.
